URGENT - ARES ACTIVATION

April 18, 2007. 10:30 A.M.

NH Section Emergency Coordinator Tom Richardson, AB1CL, has activated East Rockingham and Strafford County ARES. A directed net is now in progress on 145.150 W1WQM Repeater. If you are available, please check into the net now. ARES has been activated due to NO telephone communications in the town of Nottingham as a result of the recent flooding. Some volunteers may be needed to travel to Nottingham to provide communications. Further details will be available on the net.

This is not a drill.

Also, the ARES meeting scheduled for tonight has been CANCELED.

New E.Rock EC Appointed

A meeting of East Rockingham ARES members was held in Greenland on Tuesday evening, Jan 23. New Hampshire Section Emergency Coordinator Tom Richardson, AB1CL opened the meeting at 7pm, and there were 12 members in attendance. The first order of business was praise and thanks from Tom and the group to outgoing EC Kriss Kliegle, KA1GJU for his many years of service to ARES. This was followed by a discussion of what would be expected of a new EC, and NHARES planning in general...

East Rock. ARES Meeting

To all Hams in and near Eastern Rockingham County,

Airmail PDF Helps

At the PCARC monthly meeing last night Tom, AB1CL, past PCARC president and new Section Emergency Coordinator appointee mentioned 2 PDF documents pertaining to the Airmail email client for Winlink2000. These files have been posted for downloading at:

Getting Started with Airmail.pdf (303.6K)
and
Packet Primer.pdf (277.1K)

Winlink2000 figures prominently in this years SET (Simulated Emergency Test). There will be a workshop at the PCARC club in Greenland this evening beginning at 6pm for those interested in installing and learning more about Airmail. You will need a laptop computer, TNC, and radio with corresponding cables.
