Wow, what a great weekend - thanks to each and everyone of you that did such a fabulous job over the weekend. I seriously did not think we could top the 2006 success but you know what, WE DID! We had fun, introduced the public to our incredible hobby, I may have found at least two new contesters for my contest station, we ate very well. No injuries that I am aware, and it all came down faster than last year - off the site by 4:15 PM.
Is it true we had 150 people sign in over the weekend??? We were the Stratham Hill Park attraction for the weekend! I did not get interviewed by any press so would like to know who did and who did you talk to? Did we get any TV coverage? I got a voice mail message from Gov. Lynch's office which I will convert to a wav file saying sorry he could not make it but wanted to thank the PCARC for all of its efforts and wished us good luck for the weekend!
Nearly 5500 QSO's all in the name of fun down from last year but we did not have the spectacular conditions we had last year (Sporatic E skip on 6, 10, 15 M). But we made up for it with some huge efforts on 40 M (both CW and SSB)! Of course 20 M was its usual tremendously fun band too!
We compared the Maxcom all band automatic tuning system to a conventional 80 M dipole - it lost and was confirmed to be a fraud. FD is all about trying things - antennas, rigs, new gadgets, and of course the socializing and the public exposure - the PCARC is the gold standard here!
