DX'er Restraint Requested

The following is an open letter to the DX community from Bernie McClenny, W3UR. Bernie is a well known DX'er who has operated in numerous DXpeditions to "most wanted" entities with the likes of Maarti Lane OH2BH and others. If you dont recognize Bernie's name or call, do a "Google". Now, on with the letter:

An open letter to the DX community:

Looks like the first ARSI (Amateur Radio Society of India) VU7LD activity has begun at 1200 AM (1830Z today) December 1st local time on Kavaratti Island, Lakshadweep. Field Day Signups NOW ONLINE

SPECIAL NOTICE! ALL MEMBERS OF THE PCARC ARE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN FIELD DAY 2006. No matter what your skill level, this is the premier event of our club season, and EVERYONE is welcome and urged to attend. You may operate, log, help setup or takedown, cook, ragchew with friends, whatever. There are no penalties to be handed out if we don't "win". While we do have the goal of taking the top in Class 5A once again, it is important to remember that Field Day is for having FUN first. If you are not sure about operating, ASK SOMEONE TO HELP YOU! Folks, it is great fun to make contacts all over the North America and the world, but you won't experience it if we can't get you to sit down in front of a radio. ONCE AGAIN, you need not be an experienced DX'er or contester to participate. Also, we will have plenty of control ops available, so Technicians are able and welcome to get on HF and make some contacts, GOTA station and all others included.

To signup use the link right-hand column, or go to: W1WQM Field Day Signups
